I work at the confluence of design, storytelling, and social justice using creative, investigative and compassion based practices.


DESIGN

I’ve worked as a designer for over two decades at the intersection of branding, media, publishing, equity and mindful leadership.


JOURNALISM

I am the cofounder of Kapwa Pilipinas, a historical archiving project whose mission is to develop empathy, understanding and respect through first-hand storytelling of each person touched by an oppressive regime.


FILM

I work in development with Religion of Sports, assisting documentary filmmakers and producers move from treatment to visuals, pitching and production. I am developing a series of short documentaries for SecondMuse. I began as a camera assistant for Academy Award Winning cinematographers Roger Deakins and Darius Khondji.


STORYTELLING

I co-authored an in depth feature article published by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, republished by eight other publications including Nobel laureate Maria Ressa’s Rappler, orignally developed as my master’s thesis in investigative journalism at Gothenburg University, Sweden. I wrote a related piece for The Washington Post.
I worked on SVT’s (Swedish Television) Uppdrag Gransking (Mission Investigate) researching Swedish telecom giant Ericsson’s involvement with IS which won the 2022 Kristallen television award.


EMBODIMENT

I’ve taught yoga and meditation for almost two decades and have facilitated teacher trainings and workshops worldwide, including The Embodied Yoga Summit. I’m a full scholarship recipient in a two-year certification program for awareness and compassion-based practices through the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California Berkeley. I believe that actioning change begins from internal inquiry.


EDUCATION

I have a BA in Mass Communications with a concentration in Film from Emerson College in Boston, was in the Graphic Design & Computer Graphics Certificate program at UCLA Extension, and have an MS in Investigative Journalism from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.


PRACTICE

My pronouns are she/her (why is this important?) I live and work on stolen land that belongs to the Siargaonon (Bisaya), Eastern Shoshone, Tséstho’e (Cheyenne), and Shoshone-Bannock people. I pay respect to them and to their lands. I snowboard, surf, dive farm and parent.
